Achieving the youthful look you desire is as easy as it is quick with Restylane®. Restylane® injections are FDA approved for the treatment of facial wrinkles They are safe and effective for filling moderate to severe wrinkles specifically near, or around the nose and mouth.
Because Restylane® is non-animal-based and fully bio compatible, allergy testing
is not required. This means that you can have the Restylane®
treatment immediately. Treatments can take less than thirty
minutes, depending on the correction to be performed. When injected
into the skin, Restylane® produces volume that smoothes the wrinkle
or fold, shapes the facial contour or enhances lips in a natural
way. Restylane® injections are safe and fast, leaving no scars
or other traces on the face.
What is Restylane® and how does it work?
Restylane® is a crystal-clear, non-animal, biodegradable gel that is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. Results of Restylane® injections are instantaneous and produce a long-lasting, natural enhancement, that is gentle and safe to your skin. Restylane® treatments last much longer than the traditional collagen filler. Depending on your age, skin structure and lifestyle, treatments may last six months to a year. Initially a second treatment may be required after two to four weeks to achieve the results you desire.
Restylane® is the only dermal filler composed of NASHA
gel, (Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid), made from naturally
occurring substances in the human body. Patients are sometimes
less likely to have serious side effects, which can sometimes
occur with other animal-derived dermal fillers, such as collagen.
Can anyone be treated with Restylane®?
Yes. Restylane® has been used safely since 1996 by dermatologists
and plastic surgeons worldwide. The most commonly reported side
effects were temporary redness and swelling at the injection
site, which typically disappears within two to three days.
Anyone who has moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds can be treated with Restylane® injections. It typically is injected into the mid-to-deep dermis sections of the skin where it will impart lift and add new firmness. With lip enhancement, the results will be a noticeably fuller and more sensuous contour.
Are Restylane® injections painful?
Most people find Restylane® injections relatively painless.
They may prick a little, so for those who wish, a topical anesthetic
can be applied to the treatment area prior to your procedure.
When used for lip enhancement, a local anesthetic injection
is often given.
What to expect after your Restylane® treatment...
Immediately after your Restylane® treatment, you can expect a slight redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. This discomfort is temporary and generally disappears in a few days. When used for lip augmentation, swelling may last a week with some patients. A touch-up treatment may be necessary within 2-4 weeks after the initial treatment to achieve an optimal correction.
Restylane®: Long-lasting, but not permanent
While the effects of Restylane® are long-lasting, they are not permanent. Unlike permanent treatments or implants, Restylane® always leaves you with the option of re-evaluating your needs as the initial effects wear off. When Restylane® breaks down and is absorbed, it turns into water and carbon dioxide and disappears without leaving any trace in your body. With Restylane®, you are in charge of your looks as you always have the option of continuing or changing the combination of treatments. The treatment can be repeated as often as you like.
